Burial was in the Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.
Mrs. James died at 1:10 a.m. Thursday in Alexandria Baptist Hospital here.
The woman's husband, Otis (Butch) Darden, was reported to be on his job at the time in Pineville.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Otis (Butch) Darden Jr., John Darden and Deno Darden, all of Pineville; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter James, Columbia; a brother, Jackie James, Baton Rouge; and a sister, Mrs. Betty Ware, Birmingham, Ala.
