Hershel DeWayne Lane, 536 Porter Creek Road, Nancy, died Sunday, November 9, 1997, at his residence, following a long illness. He was 62.

Born January 14, 1935, in the Nancy community, he was a son of the late Edward E. and Anna Vanhoosier Lane. He moved to Lafayette, Indiana, in 1955, where he worked for National Homes for 33 years. He worked for Deluxe Homes for 10 years until his retirement.

Survivors include three sons, Doug and Mark Lane, both of Westminster, California and Ed Lane, Lafayette, Indiana; three daughters, Mary Geswein, Vicki Lane Arnold and Connie Kizer, all of Lafayette; three brothers, Louis and John Lane, both of Nancy, and Delno Lane, Lafayette; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lois Joering.

Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Davidson officiating.

Burial will be in Lane Cemetery, Nancy.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Saturday at Soller and Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
