She grew up in a farm setting, helped with chores and attended a one room school house named after her grandparents Blinsmon. Josie married Elmer Erickson January 5, 1928 in Sioux Falls. The couple farmed in Moody County. Following her husband's death on April 10, 1976 Josie remained on the farm until moving to Madison in 1982. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and her children & grandchildren. She Died on Saturday, September 17, 2005, Madison, SD; Age: 94 years, 2 months, 23 days.
