She is survived by four children: Penny Fletcher and her husband Andy; Bobby Wade and his wife Jo Leah; Jeff Wade; Janet Blount and her husband Craig; six grandchildren: David Fletcher and his wife Tina; Richard Fletcher; Leah Brown and her husband Mike; Ryan Wade; Todd Blount and his wife Kerri; Kayla Wales and her husband Tyler. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren: Logan and Ava Fletcher; Kiley Johnson; Elijah and Gabriel Brown; Gavin and Cannon Wade; Tristin, Jude, and Asa Blount.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Wade, Sr.; father Seth Alford; mother Myrtis Alford Brock: three brothers, Walter, Kenneth, and Farrell Alford.
Carol served her family at home for many years before going to work alongside her husband, Bob for 7 years at the Singer Sewing Co. She also worked as an Account Specialist in the State Budget Office before retiring in 2001 with 24 years of service. Carol loved the Lord and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Zachary where she faithfully taught God's Word to a very special group of women for over 20 years. After her retirement, she coordinated and led the Tuesday morning Women's Ministry Bible study for 11 years. She also dedicated many years to Gideon's International as a member of the Auxilary.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at First Baptist Church in Zachary until the celebration service conducted by Dr. Reggie Bridges, Dr. Wayne Barnes, and her grandson, Rev. Todd Blount. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens at 6213 Groom Road. Arrangements entrusted to Charlet Funeral Home.
Special thanks to her loving church family and The Hospice of Baton Rouge staff for their wonderful care during our family's time of need.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Gideons International or First Baptist Church of Zachary Building Fund.
