Bridie Shepherd
.
Bridie Shepherd, 80, departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Maggofin County on Dec. 6, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Dock Hale and Sallie Wireman Hale. She was united in marriage to Brunie Shepherd on Dec. 8, 1952. Unto this union was born one son, Frank Wayne Shepherd.

Bridie attended high school in Royalton. After finishing school she drew the attention and captured the heart of Brunie Shepherd.
Being that Brunie was in the Army, she would follow him wherever she could. They met in August 1952 and later that year they were united in marriage. They were stationed many places in the states and countries overseas. Bridie did voluntary work with the Red Cross and Army hospitals in the states and overseas. She attended church wherever they were stationed overseas and at home.

After her husband retired from the Army they made their home in Radcliff so they could be near their family and friends. Bridie lost not only a husband but her best friend and soul mate.

Early in life she made her life's most important decision-that she had committed her soul to the Lord Jesus Christ in 1950. "Her family can be proud to know that the life she showed and her devotion to God has left a testimony of how God can and does touch each of our lives if we believe and trust in him."

Brunie preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 2000. She also was preceded in death by her parents, Dock Hale and Sallie Hale; and three brothers, Arnold Hale, Ollie Hale and Dock Hale Jr.

Those left to mourn her passing include her son, Frank Wayne Shepherd; a daughter-in-law, Shirley; two grandsons, Dustin Wayne Shepherd and Travis Lane Shepherd; two sisters, Bessie Huff of Atlanta and Polly Wireman of Jackson, Mich.; three brothers, Donald Hale of Lima, Ohio and Paul Hale and Willard Hale, both of Jackson, Mich. In addition, she will be sorely missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.

The funeral is at noon Saturday, Sept. 28 at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with Dr. Gregg Curtis officiating. Burial follows in North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
