John L. Hammill
ONSTED--John L. Hammill, 81, of 315 N. Main Street, Onsted, died Monday, Aug 7, 1989 at Herrick Memorial Hospital in Tecumseh after a short illness.
He was born Jan. 16, 1908 in Tecumseh to David and Elizabeth (Lanning) Hammill. He lived in Tecumseh until marring Ione W. Williams on Jun3 5, 1937 in Tecumseh. They spent all of their married life in Onsted, Mrs. Hammill survives.
Mr. Hammill was a graduate of Tecumseh High School class of 1925, and he attended Detroit Business University for two years.
He was employedas a core maker at Bruce Foundry and Manufacturing Co. in Tecumseh, retiring 21 years ago.
Survivors include his wife: one daughter, Mrs. William (Dianne) Prims of St. Charles, MO; one son, Robert of Lapeer; two brothers, donald of Onsted and LeRoy of Adrian, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Services will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Dunn Chapel, Brown-VanHemert Funeral Home in nsted with the Rev. Sandy Benes officiating. Burial will be in Maple Shade Cemetery in Onsted.
Visitation is 6-9p.m. today at the funeral home.
