Opher Hebron Jones was born in 1923 to Rhoda Permentina Barnes Jones and Daniel Wyatt Jones Sr. He was one of thirteen children. He married Dorothy Sue Chandler in 1945. He had two children; Randal Jones, born from first marriage, and Martha Mae Jones, born from his marriage to Dorothy. He was talented in steel work, ceramics, antique refurbishing, and many artistic mediums. He was a Freemason and a Shriner. He was kind, devoted to his family, incredibly funny, and an inspiration to many people. He passed away from cancer in 2002. In his final days, he spent all his time surrounded by family ensuring that they knew how much he loved them. He was laid to rest in Hernando Memorial Park Cemetery, located in Hernando, MS, next to his beloved granddaughter Angela Hebron Barfield.
