Mrs. Elsa A. Hart, Who Was A Former Edina Resident, Died Monday Morning
—Mrs. Elsa A. Hart of Edina, who had made her home the last year and a half with a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Latimer, near Plevna, died at 8:40 o'clock Monday morning, Oct. 31, 1966, at Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville. She was 77 years old, had been in failing health for some time and hospitalized since Oct. 6.
—Funeral services were at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel here with the Rev. Bob Schofield of Novelty officiating. Burial was in the Linville Cemetery in Edina.
—Surviving besides the daughter, Carmelita, Mrs. Latimer, are two other daughters, Georgena, Mrs. Robert Hayes, and June, Mrs. Dean Shepard, both of near Edina, three sons, David C. and Harold Hart of near Edina and Cletus Hart of Kirkwood, Ill., 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, James C. and Carson S. Hudnut of Edina and Elmore Ray Hudnut of Quincy, and a sister, Lottie, Mrs. Clarence Harmon, also of Quincy.
—Mrs. Hart was born June 21, 1889, in Knox County, a daughter of Elijah and Laura Jane Rudicil Hudnut, and was married July 3, 1910, also in Knox County, to John Herman Hart. The family moved in 1936 from Lewis County to a farm nine miles southeast of Edina and later to a farm three miles southeast of town, where they were living at the time of Mr. Hart's death, May 16, 1954. Mrs. Hart later moved into Edina. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
—Her parents preceded her in death as did five brothers and three sisters, Charley, Cleve, Sylvester and Virgil Hudnut, Mrs. Mary Denum, Mrs. Carrie A. Burk and a brother and sister in infancy.
