Wolf Binder Passes

Born in Bavaria, Germany, He Came to U.S. In 1880

Wolf Binder, 79, who had lived in Hays for many years, died this morning at St. Anthony's hospital where he was taken yesterday from the home of his son, Roy Binder, where he had been living.

Mr. Binder was born Oct. 22, 1858, in Bavaria, Germany and came to America on June 8, 1880. In 1895 he became the proprietor of a pump and windmill shop in Hays and continued in this business until 1918 when he moved to Colorado. He came back to Hays eleven years ago and since then has lived here and in Portland, Ore. He was married three times, first to Lavinia Madlock in 1885, to Catherine Mary Winer in 1912 and to Hannah Ellen Duchen in 1918. He is survived by these children, Mrs. Maggie Wanamaker, Vancouver, Wash,; Roy Binder, Hays; George Binder, Hays; Fred Binder, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Mabel Deveny, Portland, Ore.; Clyde Binder, Hays; Walter Binder, Hays; Albert Binder, Hays; Mrs. Rosa Tuck, Springfield, Mo.; and a step-son, Charles Binder, Herminton, Ore.

Funeral services will be held at the Nazarene church at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon.

Errata: Lavinia's name on their wedding license is Margret L. Matlock. Maggie's last name is really Maggie Wannamaker. Charles lived in Hermiston, Ore.
