Born in Montogomery Co.; he was the son of the late John Grayson Hedge and Mary Akers Hedge.
He was a member of the Independent Baptist Church and a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Eliza Simpkins Hedge.
Surviving are a former wife Ruby Dickerson Hedge, Pulaski. Two daughters; Mrs. Daniel (Mabel) McPeak. Snowville. and Mrs. Wallace (Helen) Biggs, Pulaski; Seven Sons; Thomas (Jeff) Hedge and Cecil Junior Hedge, both of Snowville, Jesse J. Hedge and Luther Alvin Hedge, both of Radford, Daniel Whitney Hedge, Sophia, West Virginia, Frank Edward Hedge and Richard Gene Hedge, both of Pulaski; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Hedge, Snowville, and Mrs. Saxton Simpkins, Radford; Two brothers; Ivan Hedge, Hagerstown, Maryland, and Oakey Hedge, Newbern; and 30 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
the funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Robert Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the Hedge Family Cemetery, Snowville. Visiting will be anytime today with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday evening. Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski, is handling the arrangements.
