Obituary - Pioneer Dies in Hibbing, The Daily Tribune, Hibbing, Minn., January 31, 1944

Mrs. Elizabeth Burns, old time Hibbing resident, who resided at 3712 Second Ave. E., died Sunday following a short illness. Mrs. Burns was 74 years old. A resident of this locality for 35 years, Mrs. Burns is survived by her husband, George Burns; a son, Pfc. George Elmer, stationed at the Thomasville Air Station, Ga.; four brothers, Louis, Edward, George and Charles Sarcsin [sic], of Escanaba, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Rich and Mrs. Catherine Dieter, also of Escanaba, and several other relatives of that city. The body is at the Dougherty Funeral home and will be sent to Escanaba on the noon train Tuesday. Funeral services and burial will take place at Escanaba.
