She was a member of a distinguished Adair County, KY family. She was a native of Adair County, where her final earthly resting place will be.

Alein was a special lady. Widowed with two young children at the age of 32, she went back to school at Western Kentucky University to become a teacher. She started out in a one room school in Adair County and went on to become the principal of Crum's Lane Elementary in Jefferson County. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Sorority, Jefferson Co. Association of Elementary School Principals, Jefferson County Association of School Administrators, Kentucky Education Association, Adair County Retired Teachers Association and Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, a member of the Columbia Christian Church.

Alein was fortunate enough to find love again with George Wade and was able to share her life with him until he passed away in 1998.

Alein T. Wade age 89 years of Louisville, Ky. formerly of Columbia, Ky. passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 2:45 PM at the Jefferson Manor Health Center in Louisville.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11amCT/12pm noon ET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Terry White the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 9amCT/10amET, on Saturday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

She was born August 16, 1924 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late James Estel and Sallie Neat Tarter. She died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 89 years, 11 days.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wallace Jones on March 22, 1957 and George Thomas Wade on June 19, 1998. She was preceded in death by one brother: Randall Tarter and two sisters, Mattie Tarter Page and Nell T. Rogers Alein was a special lady. •Six great grandchildren
