Mr. Baldwin was born in the Zion Community of Orangeburg County, SC a son of Ray P Baldwin and Willie Smoak Baldwin.
He earned his B.A. degree from Furman University in 1929 and a Master's Degree from Duke University in 1934.
Both he and his wife dedicated their lives to the care and education of South Carolina's young people.
