BLANCHE ERMA SPARKS - Death Certificate says born April 21, 1887, Alexandria County, VA (Other: 29 MAR 1887, Occupacia, Essex, VA), 4th of 11 children born to Alfred R. Sparks (1854, NJ or Alexandria Co, VA - 1941) & Mary Catherine "Katie" Steinback (aka Stombaugh) Sparks (1862, Turbotville, Northumberland, PA - 1946, Arlington, Alexandria, VA), d/o Riley Steinback (1838-1911 & Harriet Arnold Weed Steinback (1835-1915):

Blanche was the second wife of Conway Peyton Bloxton, (m. 13 DEC 1913). She was almost as tall as he was, and their children were all tall, especially their son, "Slim". Some of their descendants are 6'8" & 6'9" tall, even the women.

They had twins, Erma Blanche Bloxton Hardick & Charles William "Slim" Bloxton, and two years later, another daughter, Mary Geraldine "Billie" Bloxton Meyer.

Blanche passed away on 21 OCT 1918, at the young age of 31, while pregnant with her 4th child "of a virus deadly to pregnant women". Her Death Certificate says she died of Influenza - Bronchial Pneumonia with Heart Failure as the secondary cause.

CENSUS 1900 - Blanche was 13 and living with her parents and six siblings in the Lee District of Fairfax County, VA
Blanche E. (b. March 29 or April 13, 1887) is on the June 14 1900 census for Lee District, Fairfax County, Virginia at age 13 with her parents and siblings. Her father, Alfred Sparks, b. April 1843, New Jersey, was a Farmer (47), married 19 years; her mother, Katie (Sally?), b. Sept 1862, Pennsylvania (37) had 7 of 9 births alive (all listed, ages 17 - 1, b. MD, VA, & D.C. on this census.

CENSUS 1910 - Blanche was 23, single, and living with her parents and four siblings in Washington, Alexandria County, VA.

Blanche's maternal uncles are buried with her mother, Katie's, parents:
