Mabel Lina Klein Roach, 87, of Poteet and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at Southwest Texas Regional Medical Center in Jourdanton. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 16, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Ottmers officiating. Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Roach was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Christian Klein and Emma Mosel Klein. She is survived by two sons, one daughter and spouses, including Danny and Lee Ann Kunz of Poteet, Roger and Vickie Kunz of Fort Worth, and Melba, Mrs. Nolan Bynum of Comfort; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, two sisters and their spouses, including Lee and Loraine Klein and Cora, Mrs. Robert Lang, all of Fredericksburg; Clemens Klein, Comfort, and Elizabeth, Mrs. Herman Koenig, San Antonio; and a sister-in-law, Linda, Mrs. Chester Klein, Fredericksburg. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roach was preceded in death by a son, Larry Kunz; a son-in-law, Nolan Bynum; four brothers, including Chester Klein, Harvey Klein, Eugene Klein and Harry Klein, and a sister, Meta, Mrs. Alfons Klein. Memorials may be made to the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Building Fund or to the charity of choice. Pallbearers included Eric Kunz, David Kunz, Brian Kunz, E.C. (Willie) Scott, Brett Kastner and Gary (Butch) Klein.
