Blair J. Geissinger, of Hanover, died peacefully on the morning of August 1, 2013, in York.

Born Monday, March 12, 1923, in Huntingdon, he was a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania and was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Marion, who died on February 1, 2013.

Mr. Geissinger was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II with the 78th Infantry Division, receiving a Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars.

Blair and Marion owned and operated the B&M Sandwich Shop in Hanover years ago. Later, he worked in Grants Department Store as a Manager.

He enjoyed Miller Hi Life, Stegmaier, fishing, and the Baltimore Orioles. Every year he would plant a vegetable garden.

Blair is survived by a niece and nephews who remember him fondly as a good, fun-loving man with the crazy straw hat flipping pancakes on a spatula at Cowan's Gap.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., August 7, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, celebrated by The Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
