Adeline Sampson was born Mar. 18, 1836 in Dekalb, Missouri, She married William Rousey in Buchanan County Missouri in 1851 at the age of 15, Aaron Lewis, justice of the the peace presiding. They resided at Wathena, Kansas and later located at Monrovia, Kansas. They were the parents of James Perrian Rousey, Mary Elizabeth Rousey Grable, Glenn Rousey, Thomas Hiram Rousey and Cora Rousey. Adeline Rousey died at Monrovia, KS. on August 8, 1910.

Mrs. Adeline Rousey, widow of the late William Rousey, was born March 18,1836, and died at her home in Monrovia, August 8, 1910, death being due to heart and liver trouble, having been seriously ill but about a week. She was married to William Rousey March 2, 1852, and came to Kansas, with her husband, over fifty years ago, living in Monrovia about half that time. She was a member of the Presbyterian church; a good woman, and greatly beloved by all. Her husband preceded her about ten years ago. Five children are left to mourn her departure. Glenn Rousey, of Effingham; Mary E. Grable of Garden City; Mrs. John Arnold, of Atchison; J. P. Rousey of Osborne City, and T. H. Roussey of Monrovia. The funeral services were held at the home Tuesday, conducted by Elder Z. S. Hastings, of Effingham. The burial was in the Monrovia cemetery. All of the children except Mrs. Grable, were present at the funeral.
