Mrs. Emil Dahme, 85, 212 8th Ave. S.W., died at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday in her home. She had been ill about a year.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Edgar Streufert officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery of Highland Township.
Mrs. Dahme was born Hermina Guenther on Aug. 30, 1870, in East Prussia, Germany. At the age of 12 she accompanied her mother, brothers and sisters to the United States where they joined their father, who arrived here earlier. They came west, settling briefly in Milbank, coming with oxen and wagon to what is now Highland Township, where they established a home.
She was married to Emil Dahme and they made their home on his farm 16 miles southwest of Aberdeen, residing there until Mr. Dahme's death in 1941. Shortly thereafter she moved to her present home in the Hub City. She was affiliated with St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and was previously a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland Township.
The body will lie in state at St. Paul's from 12 o'clock Friday until 1:50 p.m. Friends may call at the Huebl Chapel until 11:45 a.m. Friday. All relatives will meet at the home at 212 8th Ave. S.W., at 1:15 p.m. Friday.
Her husband, two sons and a daughter preceded her in death; in addition there were six children who died in infancy.
Surviving are one son, August of Aberdeen; four daughters, Mrs. Rudolph Pinkert of Big Stone City; Mrs. Alvin Angerhofer of Aberdeen; Mrs. C.G. Berwald of Baker, Mont.; Mrs. William Ristau of Mansfield; one sister Mrs. Mathilda Schwandt of Milbank; 23 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
