Mr. Gene Cossey
Mr. Gene Cossey, 71, of Parkdale died Thursday, January 21, 1999, at his home. He was a native of Pottsville, lived in Parkdale most of his life and was a Baptist, a retired farmer, and an U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Wilson Cossey; and five brothers, Vernon, Lee, Othel, Cecil and Arvie Cossey. Survivors are his wife, Estelle Vines Cossey of Parkdale; a daughter, Shirley Sammons of Crossett; two brothers, Henry Cossey of Hamburg and Ray Cossey of Parkdale; two sisters, Mary Pack of Wilmot and Ruby Curtis of Crossett; a granddaughter, Cynthia Stanley; and three great-grandchildren, Colby and Hailey Ward and Brittney Skinner. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 23, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home in Hamburg with Revs. Harry Noble and E. W. Ricks officiating. Pallbearers were Prentiss Harrell, John Noble Barnes, Harry Dunigan, J. D. Grice, and Carlton and Billy Vines. Burial followed services at the Parkdale Cemetery.
