Services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home Chapel for Alonzo Allen, age 77. Archie King and David Livingston officiated and burial was in Whorton Springs Cemetery.
He was a DeKalb County native, a nurseryman and farmer, and a baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Magdalene Young Allen of Smithville; a daughter, Polly Payne of Georgia; two sisters, Alline Damron of Kentucky and Audrey Allen of Smithville; one grandchild, four step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Charles Fuson, Jerry Lee Cantrell, Roy Swallows, Len Judkins, Boyd Atnip, Bass Estes, Bobbie Lewis Martin and Tom Magness.
