Abigail was probably the daughter of William Cook and Hannah Phillips, tentatively linked as parents below. Their (second) daughter Abigail's birth is recorded in Maidenhead Twp., old Hunterdon Co., NJ (now Lawrence Twp., Mercer Co.) on 25 March 1743. Note that at that time, March 25th was legally the first day of the new year. So the 24 March 1742 birth date recorded for Abigail Pierson in family records is technically only one day different than the birth date of Abigail Cook.

Note as well that Abigail Pierson named her first son William, and that her son Joseph married Jemima Hart, who was a granddaughter of Hannah (Cook) Hart, another daughter of William Cook and Hannah Phillips.

Note: I have created a virtual cemetery for Abigail's descendants - Pierson (Salathiel) Family [Mercer Co., NJ]. -Joseph R. Klett
