William was the son of Henry Cook and Wyntje Franse Klauw. He was probably born about 1698-1700 in Burlington Co., NJ, where his parents lived at that time. He married Hannah Phillips about 1722. He was a resident of Maidenhead Twp., old Hunterdon Co., NJ (now Lawrence Twp., Mercer Co.), where the births of his children were recorded in the town book by his brother-in-law Abner Phillips, Town Clerk. He died sometime after 1756, presumably in Maidenhead.

Gravesite Details

This memorial is tentatively placed here based on William's residence in Maidenhead, the burial of his father-in-law here, and the fact that many gravestones have been lost in this location.
