In the 1870 census Jacob and his family were living in Elkrun Township, Columbiana County, Ohio. Jacob was listed as a laborer age 32 born in Ohio, his wife Hannah age 29 born in Ohio, their children listed were: William E. age 8, Mary I. age 7, Nettie I. age 6, Lydia M. age 4 and John M. age 2, all were born in Ohio.

In the 1900 census Jacob B. Culler was living alone in Elkrun Township, Columbiana Co., Ohio. He was listed as a Stone Mason age 62 born December 1838 in Ohio.

Jacob Culler was a shoemaker and owned a shop in Fairfield Township,Columbiana County,Ohio. He was a member of the M. E. Church in Elkton Ohio.

The first Jacob B. Culler Family reunion was a huge success. It was held September 16, 1951, at Pavilion No.1 West, at the Firestone Park in Columbiana, Ohio.
A good time was had by everyone. The number counted present at the dinner table was 67, and more came later.
A short business session was held to elect officers for 1952. Those elected were:
President --- Paul Culler of Lisbon, Ohio
Vice President ---- Harley Culler of R. D. Lisbon, Ohio
Secretary-Treasurer --- Helen McCall of Rogers, Ohio
The entertainment committee was elected to --- Lois Peppell of New Waterford
Carole Davis of Leetonia, Ohio
Our share for the rent of the pavilion was paid at $2.25. A collection was taken amounting to $7.25. Expenses for cards and printing and minute books were ($1.86 + .25 = $2.11) paid to Lola Green. Total of expenses $4.36 leaving a balance of $2.89. The next reunion was settled for September 21, 1952 in Pavilion No.1 East.

The second Jacob Culler Family Reunion was held September 21, 1952 at Pavilion No.1 East at Firestone Park, Columbiana, Ohio. After enjoying a good picnic dinner the number counted present was 74. A short business session was held to elect officers for the coming year;

Secy. - Treas. -- Loraine Baker
Ent. Committ -- Mae Finch & Florence Applegate

The afternoon was spent in talking over old time, playing games and group singing, with Carol Davis at the piano. A collection was taken amounting to $7.52.

Jacob's Obituary --- Culler, Jacob of Elkton, died March 23, 1911. Born in East Palestine in 1837, son of the late Abraham & Elizabeth (Hooker) Culler. He married Hannah Phillips who died 21 years ago. Children surviving are; John Culler, Mrs Dickey, Mrs. Sam Finch, Mrs. Merle Martin and Mrs. Kate Dickinson. Brother of; Frank Culler, Joseph Culler, William Culler, Abraham Culler, Benjamin Culler, Maria Barnett, Samantha Garwood and Eliza Welker.

Lisbon, March 23 -Jacob Culler, a well known and highly respected resident of Elkton and Elkrun township for many years, died suddenly in the woods on the farm of his son-in-law C. K. Dickey, near Signal, at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning (March 23, 1911). He had been at his daughter's home for several weeks and about 11 o'clock he went to the woods, a short distance from the house, where a number of men were engaged cutting timber. He talked to the men about ten minutes when he fell to the ground and expired almost immediately. Death was due to heart failure.
Deceased was 73 years old, a life long resident of Columbiana county. He was born in December 1837, on a farm near East Palestine, as son of Abram and Elizabeth (Hooker) Culler. He was united in marriage with Miss Hannah Phillips and they began housekeeping in Elkton where they lived for many years. Mrs. Culler's death occurred twenty-one years ago, and deceased has since made his home among his children. For the past 27 years he has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Elkton and one of the prominent workers in the church. Deceased is survived by two sons and five daughters as follows: William Culler, Elkton, John, Lisbon, Mrs. Dickey, near Signal, Mrs. W. J. Adams, Rogers, Mrs. Samuel Finch, Lisbon, Mrs. Merle Martin, Elkton, and Mrs. Kate Dickinson, Niles. He is also survived by three sisters and five brothers, Frank, and Joseph Culler, of California, William, Hicksville, Abram, Columbiana, Benjamin, Elkton, Mrs. Marie Barnett, Signal, Mrs. Samantha Garwood, and Mrs. Eliza Welker, Lisbon. The time of the funeral has not yet been set.

Jacob Culler, aged 73 years, dropped dead Thursday at the home of his son-in-law, Charles Dickey, of Signal where he was visiting. Mr. Culler had been at the Dickey home for a few days and this morning had gone into the woods where choppers were at work and immediately after reaching the scene of work he dropped dead without a moment's warning. The aged man was apparently in the very best of health and it is stated that he was never given the least trouble with his heart. Mr. Culler was born in Columbiana County near East Palestine and has lived practically all his life in different pars of the county. At an early age he united in marriage and of the union there are seven children who are left to mourn the loss. Two sons, William of Elkton and John Culler of Lisbon, Mrs. Charles Dickey of Signal, Mrs. William Adams of Rogers, Mrs. Smuel Finch of Lisbon, Mrs. Meryle Martin of Elkton and Mrs. Chase Dickerson of Niles. Mr. Culler was a member of the Methodist Church of Elkton and was a man highly respected and esteemed by all his friends and associates, his kind and generous disposition winning for him a host of friends who will be grieved to learn of his death.

His birth date was December 19, 1938, in East Palestine, Ohio, and his death date was, March 23, 1911 at 11:00 A.M., in Signal, Elkrun Twp., Columbiana Co., Ohio, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 4 days old, cause of death was, Cerebral Hemorrage, (see below). His father was listed as, Abraham Culler, born in Unknown, and his mother, Elizabeth Hooker, born in Unknown. He was buried in Kemble Cemetery, Columbiana Co., Ohio, on March 1911.
