Charley was the son of Jane (McCormack) and Charles Sanford "Polk" Richey. He first married Martha Ellen Campbell and they had the following children: Jennie Belle, James Claude, Daniel Jefferson, Sanford Roscoe, Charles Alfred and Floyd Lester. After Martha's death, he remarried to Linnie Jane Gennoe. Linnie and Charley did not have any children.
Charley had the following half-siblings by his mother's 2nd marriage to Daniel Jefferson Alexander: Margaret "Jessie", William, Robert Dennie, John, Daniel Jefferson, Thomas Albert, Martha Ellen and Samuel Burke.
Charley's mother, Jane McCormack Richey Alexander, is buried at Vaught's Cemetery in Jackson Co, AL. Its not known at present where his father, Charles "Polk" Richey, is buried but is probably near Thatchers Landing, Hamilton Co, TN.
NOTE: Charley's paternal grandparents were Elizabeth (Francis) (Hale) Richey and Sanford Richey.
