Probably meant it to be Bird for mother's maiden name.
Note that Walter Hunt is the son of Hugh Hunt and an Elizabeth Jane Jones. She is buried in the same lot as Hugh Hunt and a little Charlie Hunt. Perhaps a second marriage for this couple or Mary McCorkle was a wife of his as well and step mother to Walter. Possibly she was an aunt. Several ways they could be related. I don't know which at this time.
Mary M. Jones married Samuel B. McCorkle on 3 Oct 1859 in Greene Co., MO.
Mary, daughter of Rev. William Jones and Didama Burks.
Provided Feb. 2019:
Mary McCorkle (111093582)
Suggested edit: Reading the bio for Mary Jones McCorkle, her mother's maiden name was Burks. Mary was the sister to Elizabeth Jane Jones Hunt, the wife of Hugh T. Hunt and the mother, of Water H. Hunt.
Mary died in the Greene County Alms House, where she had been a resident since 15 Oct 1879. Walter Hunt, Mary's nephew, was the informant on Mary's death certificate.
