Ellen J. Kelly, a Stamford resident, died Sunday, Sept. 28, at Stamford Hospital. She was 68. Mrs. Kelly died of cancer according to her son-in-law, William Tarantino of Naugatuck. Born Sept. 6, 1929, in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Claudine Liverman Johnson. Mrs. Kelly worked for Arnold's Bakery in Greenwich, doing data entery. She was also a member of the Town & Country Bowling League. Mrs. Kelly is survived by a longtime companion, Tony Corbo of Stamford; two daughters, Mary Ellen Tarantino of Naugatuck and Margaret Hoyt of Stamford, three sons, Robert D. Kelly of West Haven, Timothy J. Kelly of Naugatuck and Kevin M. Kelly of Washington, Vt.; a brother Edward Johnson of Rockford, Ill; two sisters, May Guarra (sic. actually Gwara) of Meriden and Alberta Cottrell of Bristol; and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 977 Hope St., Stamford. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cencer Society, 1599 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30329.
