Robert E. Lee Beverly (age 28) and Donie Ella Beverly (age 22) were married March 25, 1900 in Randolph County by Rev John Cliett, a Primitive Baptist Minister. The ceremony was performed in the Parlor at the residence of the Minister and was attended by a large crowd of friends and relatives. After the ceremony, Mr Beverly took his new bride to a house that he had built for them in the Rock Stand Community. He then began a General Merchandise business in a store located near the home (Beverly's Store). After the death of Mr Beverly, the store was kept in operation for a time by the older children and Mrs Beverly. Carlos Beverly, the older son, eventually took over the business and kept the popular community store until his death in 1968.
