William Blum, son of Benedict and Anna Schwarte Blum, was born March 9, 1909. He married Laurina Britten on January 26, 1932. They are the parents of 14 children: Kenneth, (b.ll/3/1932); Marian Sandbothe, (b.8/19/1934); Margaret Halferty, (b.4/8/1936); Jerome, (b.ll/30/1937); Agnes Starr, (b.5/30/1939); Monica Newland, (b.9/24/l940); Bernard, (b.12/30/1941); Marcus, (b.4/27/l943); Francis, (7/9/1945~7/28/1945); Ralph, (b.6/29/1946); Eugene, (b.ll/ll/l947); Linda White, (b.6/15/1949); Michael, (b.6/10/1951); and Theresa Miller, (b. 7/28/1952). The children all attended St. Boniface School.
Laurina is retired and lives at the Baptist Memorial Home in Harlan.
