STATE DEATHS
WM. S. McDOWELL
Batavia – Wm. S. McDowell, 71, died at his home one mile northwest of Bladensburg at 9:40
p.m. Tuesday. He had been ill several months but died suddenly.
He had always been a farmer in the community where he died. He belonged to the Bladensburg Christian church. He was married February 25, 1891, to Miss Estella Giltner, who died January 9, 1929.
He leaves seven children, Mrs Flora Hagedon of Ottumwa, Mrs Effie Warder of Fremont, Mrs. Wanda Taylor of Fairfield, Mrs Amy Goff of Chicago, Vaughn McDowell of Ottumwa, Max and Thelma at home, Wm. McDowell, of Mesilla Park, NM.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:15 p.m. at the Christian church at Bladensburg in charge of the Rev Eugene C. Beach of Ottumwa. Burial will be in the Agency cemetery.
