Mrs. Martha M. Yeager Dies At Age Of 92

Mrs. Martha M. Yeager, 92, above, life-long resident of Bladensburg, died at 2 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.C. Miller of Bloomfield route 9.

Born March 9, 1859 near Bladensburg, the daughter of John and Mary McDowell, she was married to Alfred Yeager October 13, 1878. The couple celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary in October, 1949. He preceded her in death January 16, 1950.

Survivors in addition to Mrs. Miller are, two sons, John of Bladensburg and M.U. Yeager of Ottumwa, three other daughters, Mrs. Alfred Reynolds and Mrs. Carl Wymore, both of Ottumwa, and Mrs. John Davis of Bladensburg, 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Hanna of Eldon.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bladensburg Christian church where Mrs. Yeager was a member. The Rev. Leonard Sammon will officiate. The casket will remain at the Community funeral home until noon Thursday when it will be taken to the church. Burial will be in the Bladensburg cemetery.
