Wade served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at Al Shepards Motor Company in Jefferson City for many years and later retired form Chesebrough-Ponds in Jefferson City. He also worked at the Meta M.F.A. He was a member of the Argyle V.F.W. and Meta Christian Church.
He is also survived by two children, Brenda Barnhart of Rolla and Bruce Lee Barnhart of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Megan Walters, Tiffany Walters, Elizabeth Walters, and Robert Lee Barnhart; two brothers, Lewis Barnhart and Roscoe Barnhart; and one sister, Ceola Bock.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m., with services immediately following at 3 p.m., on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Interment will be in Pendleton Cemetery near Meta.
Memorial contributions are suggested the American Diabetes Association.
