Margaret and James Alexander Black were married in Steubenville, Jefferson County, Ohio on 17 Jul 1855. Daughter of George F Webster and Sarah Hendricks.

Mrs. Margaret Black, former resident of this city, passed away at her home in Washington, Pa., Monday morning at 8:45 o'clock. Mrs. Black was well known and highly esteemed by many old residents of this city, having resided here since childhood until about 25 years ago. She was the widow of the late J. A. Black, for many years proprietor of the wagon shop on Fifth Street, this city. Before her marriage she was Margaret Webster. She was the mother of nine children, two of whom preceded her in death. The following children remain to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother: Emma, Mary, George W. and J. A., of Washington, Pa.; Mrs. R. D. Helms, of Pennsylvania Avenue, Steubenville; Charles Black, of Dormont, Pa. and J. O. Black of Dayton, Mont. Fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren also survive. The remains will be brought to this city by automobile tomorrow afternoon and will be taken direct to union cemetery where services will be held. Friends are invited to meet the funeral cortege at the cemetery.
