Name Sex Age Birth place
Robert Slaughter M 16 Georgia
Rubin Slaughter M 24 Georgia
Gorge Slaughter M 21 Georgia
Westly Slaughter M 12 Georgia
Nancy Slaughter F 0 Texas
It's assumed that Robert through Westly are children of John and his previous wife (name unknown).
This census page was completed in September 1850. While the transcription shows a 0 for the age of Nancy, the actual image of the form shows her age as 1/12 of a year. That would put her birth some time in the month of August of 1850.

Fast forward to the 1870 US Census of Limestone County Texas includes the family of Mary Slaughter. John is thought to have died in 1864.
In that 1870 Census there are x children listed on the transcribed page. Based on the ages of these children and that none of these kiddos (except Nancy) were on the 1850 Census list of children.

Name of Head Sex Age Place of Birth
Name Sex Age Place of Birth
Nancy Veal F 28y Tennessee
Eliza Veal F 19y Tennessee
Jno Veal M 18y Texas
Ezekiel Veal M 16y Texas
Dollie Veal F 14y Texas
Ruth Veal F 8y Texas
These children (Eliza through Ruth) match the list provided to me by Mary Brunette (#47119723) some years ago. Her list documented these children as progeny of Mary and Jown Slaughter.
If Nancy was 1/12 of a year old in 1850, then she would have been 20 in 1870. At 20 or 28 Nancy is no longer a 'child' per se. Also, her name is documented as Veal. She had married Asa Lott Warren Veal (my ggf) around the year 1870.
There are some apparent discrepancies in this list of 'children'. First, Eliza through Ruth are listed as 'Veal' children. Mary Slaughter was the head of this household. Nancy was a married ---
