ALPHONSE BENDER
Alphonse Felix Bender, 86, of 209 Wallace Street, died yesterday in Garrett Memorial Hospital. A native of this city, he was the son of the late Jacob and Desnelda (Reinhard) Bender.
Mr. Bender was a self employed carpenter and a member of SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ethel (Mulligan) Bender; four daughters, Mrs. Ophelia Bautz, Lutherville, Md., Mrs. Almeda Stewart, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Ethel Marie McLean, Annapolis, Md., Mrs. Eleanor Wilson, Wheaton, Md., three sons; John A. Bender and A. Joseph Bender, both of this city; T. Randolph Bender, Severna Park, Md., one sister, Mrs. Mary McNamee, Sandusky, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the George Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul's Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
