Albert Brady was the son of Edwin Washington Brady and Lydia Francis Weaver Brady.

Albert married Harriet Wakefield on May 10, 1886.

Albert graduated from Knox College in the class of 1882 having been a classmate of Samuel S. McClure and John S. Phillips. These three later founded McClure's Magazine. After graduation, Albert entered into partnership with his brother, Oscar W. Brady, in the publication of the Davenport Daily Times. In 1893 he went to NYC to become Secretary of McClure's Magazine as well as the Advertising Manager.

Albert died suddenly in Rome, Italy while on a business trip for McClure's Magazine. His brother Curtis Brady assumed the duties of Advertising Manager after his death. Albert Brady's career with McClure's Magazine is depicted in the book "Success Story, The Life and Times of S.S. McClure" by Peter Lyon.

Albert left behind two children, Florence Wakefield Brady and Albert Bird Brady Jr.
