Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon for Melbourne "Mel" F. Himsl, 77, who died Saturday at his residence in Avon surrounded by his loving family. The Rev. Blane Wasnie, OSB will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Mel was born in Avon Township to Frank and Julia (Achman) Himsl. He married Barbara Netter on September 10, 1960 at St. Anna Catholic Church. The couple purchased the Netter family farm and continued farming beef cattle. Mel enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time tending to the beef cattle. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children, Russell of Avon, Rhonda (Tim) Then of Avon; grandchildren, Matthew and Mitchell; siblings, Alois Himsl, Mienulf Himsl, June Litche and JoAnn Pflueger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara in 2009; and siblings, Mildred Mock, Eldred Himsl, Amor Himsl, Gary Himsl, and Marie Poppin.
