Alfred "Fred" D. Kelly, 80, Lincoln, passed away March 31, 2013 surrounded by loved ones. Fred was born and raised in Mansura, LA to Shelton and Edna Kelly. He served 4 years in the Air Force, joined the Lincoln Police Department where he retired as a Detective Sergeant after 35 years of service, followed by 8 years as a C.S.O. in the Federal Building. He had a love for hunting and fishing.
Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Thais (Champoux) Kelly; 3 sons, Mark Kelly (Lisa Marquette), Craig Kelly, and Todd Kelly. He had 3 grandchildren; Erin Swanigan (Ryan Swanigan), Alex Kelly, and Mike Kelly (Sasha Frazier).
All services are held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 31st & S in Lincoln. Viewing 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Apr. 3, 2013. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Apr. 4, 2013.
