Clona Alene Chesnut, 89, of Port Lavaca, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000. She was born April 18, 1911 in Commache, the daughter of the late Waldron "Dod" Brown and Ola Raspberry Brown.

A housewife, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #361 and the Strawn United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Vernon N. Clark and James C. Chesnut. In addition to her parents and husbands, Chesnut was preceded in death by a son, James N. Clark; brothers Dick, Ancil, Jim, Fred and Ray Brown; and a grand daughter, Anna Joyce Taylor.

Burial will be in the Brad Cemetery at Brad. Local funeral arrangements were under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home.
