She was born March 16, 1863 in Kralovice No. 138, Plzen-North District, Pilsen/Plzen Region, Bohemia, Empire of Austria (now Czech Republic), daughter of Jindrich "Henry" John Nepomucky Hajek and Josepha "Josephine" Liska Hajek. She came to America in 1868 with her mother, siblings, and grandmothers, Elizabeth Liska and Anna Hajek. They arrived in New York on May 11, 1868 aboard the ship Deutschland about a year following her father's arrival in America. In Chicago, Illinois on October 7, 1882 she married Filip (Philip) Taraba. They were parents of two children: Louisa P. and Frank Joseph. She died November 9 1931 in Chicago.
