Death of Dr. Brown
Sidell Journal November 25, 1904 page 1

Dr. Wm. Brown died at his home in Allerton last Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1904 at 3:20 o'clock p.m., after an illness of six or seven weeks.
Dr. Brown was perhaps personally acquainted with more people in Champaign and Vermilion counties than any other person, having practiced his profession, that of veterinary surgery, throughout this territory for a number of years. He was of a pleasant disposition and made many friends who will regret to learn of his demise.
Besides a large circle of friends, deceased leaves eight children to mourn his departure. They are William, of Lawton Okla; Grant, Milo; Mrs. Gus Anderson and Mrs. Harry Parish, of Allerton, and Mrs. R. T. Houghton, Mrs. Harry Allen and Miss Dora of Broadlands.
Funeral services were conducted after which the remains were interred in Fairfield cemetery.
The Journal extends sympathy and condolence to the family in this their hour of bereavement.
