She was born 5 May 1830 in Skopytce No. 8, Tabor District, South Bohemian Region, Empire of Austria (now Czech Republic). She married in Bohemia to Frantisek (Frank) Taraba, and they were parents of possibly five children, three living to adulthood: Martin, James and Filip (Philip). She died 12 Sep 1918 in Oak Forest Infirmary, Oak Forest, Cook County, Illinois and is buried in the Bohemian National Cemetery beside her husband.

The Taraba family made their way to Bremen, Germany, where they left on the SS Nurnberg for America. They arrived in Baltimore, Maryland on May 4, 1874. They boarded a train and went to Chicago, Illinois, where they settled. Her husband died in 1888 and she is found in the home of her son, Philip (Filip)for 1900 census. In 1910, Anna is living in Chicago, with Philip's wife, Marie (Hajek) Taraba, as he had died.

Recently another son was located in records of the Czech Republic: Matej Taraba b. 19 Feb 1866 in Dlouha Lhota No. 31, d. 20 Dec 1866 in Dlouha Lhota No. 31, Tabor, Czech Republic. He is buried in the old church cemetery at Choustnik a short distance from Dlouha Lhota.

Anna's birth date is being shown as May 5, 1830 based on her record of baptism on May 6, 1830. Her stone has born in March. Also, her death record indicated her father to be Frank Pomazal, but according to her baptism record her father was Matej Dolezal and mother Katerina Salekova (Salkova).
