OAK GROVE - Thomas Franklin Berry died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Carroll Nursing Home in Oak Grove. He was 90.
Born in Forest, La., Mr. Berry was a resident of Oak Grove. He was a farmer, mechanic and welder.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, where he was a deacon for 50 years. He also served on the West Carroll Parish police jury for 12 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Scott Berry and Frankie Mae Dye Berry; three brothers, James Berry, C.H. "Pete" Berry and Bernis Berry; and two sisters, Lillian Jones and Ollie Hall.
Survivors include his wife, Oree Berry of Oak Grove; two sons, Tom Berry of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Scotty Berry of Oak Grove; three daughters, Edna Tatum of Bastrop, La., Brenda Herrington of Oak Grove and Dot Johnson of Summit; one brother, J.S. "Junior" Berry of Oak Grove; two sisters, Etta Pittman of Oak Grove and Maynell Whitney of Jonesboro, Maine; and 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Oak Grove with Drs. James Parker and Jeff Jinks officiating. Burial will follow at New Forest Cemetery in Forest.
Visitation will be until 9 tonight at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.
Pallbearers will be Tony Berry, Dennis Berry, Steve Berry, Edward Berry, Bennie Hall, David Hall, Jackie Jones and Mike Berry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Hughes, Berry Wayne Edmonson, Kiley Thames and Lavelle "Big Boy" Fallin.
