ANDERSON--Phillip E. Boner, 27, Anderson, was killed Tuesday when a Conrail train struck his semitrailer at an Anderson crossing.
Police said the train's horns and the crossing flashers were working. The locomotive dragged the truck a block.
Mr. Boner was a native of Madison County, and was employed by the McMahan Leib Co., Anderson. He had served with the Marines during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boner, rural Middletown; a son, Phillip, and a daughter, Pammy, both of Alexandria; two brothers, Kenneth, rural Middletown, and Paul, Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara House and Mrs. Joan Mabbitt, both of Anderosn; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Ballard and Shirey Funeral Home in Middletown with Rev. Harold Gibson officiating. Burila will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Daleville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
