Death of Mrs. Evelina B. Butler.

Mrs. Evelina B. Butler, widow of Edward Butler, passed away at the home of her son, David E. Butler, Locust street, Monday, Sept. 4, at the advanced age of 90 years, 3 months and 18 days.

Mrs. Butler was a daughter of Abishai and Mary Green, being one of nine children. She was born in Falmouth May 16, 1826. She was twice married, her first husband being Rufus Butler of Martha's Vineyard, and her second husband Edward Butler of Falmouth.
Mrs. Butler had the misfortune to fracture her hip as the result of a fall several months ago, since which time she had been gradually failing. Prior to the accident, Mrs. Butler enjoyed excellent health and was remarkably active for a person of her age. Since the death of her daughter, Mrs. Hattie Carlow, some years ago, she had resided alone in her home on Locust street. After fracturing her hip she was removed to the home of her son.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Henry Herbert Smythe and Rev. Frank H. Baker. Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery.
She was 89 years of age at death.
