Gwendolyn Delores Murray Battle, age 82, passed away on Feb. 22, 2013 at Kindred Lakeshore Hospital in Chicago.
She was the eldest child of Edward Murray and Margurite Hines Murray. She married Elmore Battle Sr. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters, Jacqueline (Willie) Briggs, Danita (Eric) Keys and Delores Ann Battle; a son, Gregory Allen Battle; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four siblings, Edward Nathaniel Murray (Junie) Jr., Walter Richard Murray (Rickie), Margurite Murray and Marquete Murray and two children, Elmore Battle Jr. and Darlene Murray Williams.
