Allen Kirk Trimble was the second born son of Edward Trimble and Heneryette Margratia Brainard. He was the second oldest of eight children. Allen Kirk had an older brother, Bert, a younger sister, Grace Andrea, a brother Edward Floyd who died at two years old, a younger brother, Theodore Roosevelt, and a younger brother, Carl Brainard. Allen Kirk had two more younger siblings, a sister, Dora Theresa who they called, Polly, and a younger brother, George Raymond whom everyone called Buster. Many of his siblings, including his sister, Grace, lovingly called him “Kirkie”

The 1900 and 1910 federal census documents show Allen Kirk living in Jefferson Township, Andrew County, Missouri. The family had a farm in Andrew County.

Allen Kirk Trimble married Lola Alberta Montgomery on August 2, 1915. Three children were the result of their marriage. Their daughter Vera M Lemon was born on July 30, 1916 in St. Joseph Missouri. Their son, Otis Montgomery Trimble was born on May 25, 1918 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Their son, Kirk Edward Trimble was born on the 22nd of March in 1924.

The 1920 Census shows him living in Washington Missouri in Buchanan County. The 1930 census shows him living in Kansas City, in Wyandotte County Kansas. In 1940 the Census shows them living in Chicago, Cook, Illinois.

According to his granddaughter, Terry, Allen Kirk was a bricklayer in Kansas City, Kansas.

Allen Kirk died of a heart attack on 7 October 1958 while sitting on the porch of his house in Kansas City, Kansas he was 66 years old. His services were held at 3pm at the Porter Funeral Home Chapel. He was buried in Mabel Chapel Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
