Carl had an older brother, Bert, an older brother, Allen Kirk, a brother Edward Floyd who died at two years old, an older sister, Andrea Grace, and an older brother, Theodore Roosevelt. He had two younger siblings, a sister, Dora Theresa who they called, Polly, and a younger brother, George Raymond whom everyone called Buster.
Carl met Elizabeth (Lizzie) Lynch and fell in love. They were married on December 24, 1921. One child, Eugene would come from their union. Eugene was very talented musically and would bring them much joy.
The 1930 census shows Carl and Lizzie living at 2119 Washington Avenue in St. Joseph, Missouri with their seven year old son, Eugene. The census also shows Carl working as a roll tender in a flour mill. A Roll Tender sets up and runs machines to crush and polish the grain in a flour mill.
The 1940 census shows Lizzie and Carl living at 2522 and a half South Seventeenth Street in St. Joseph, Missouri, with their seventeen year old son, Eugene. Carl was still working as a Roll tender in the flour mill and Carl's son, Eugene was working as an assistant janitor in the public school. The census also shows that Carl attended school thru his sophomore year in High School.
The 1953 City Directory shows Carl and Lizzie living at 518 Hamburg Avenue in St. Joseph, Missouri. The directory indicates that Carl was working at Armour's Lab. The 1954 city directory shows the same address and occupation. The 1957 directory lists the same address but indicates that Carl was a tractor operator for Armour. The 1958 directory indicates the same address and place of employment but says Carl was a freezerman at Armour.
Carl died on December 9th, 1964, at the age of 63. He is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, in St. Joseph, Missouri, next to his wife, Lizzie. His son, Eugene is buried in the same cemetery.
