Came by ship from Ireland, Arch, William, Andy,1 sister, died at sea, they landed in Fort DA Russell in Wyoming, Their Mother died there, Father walked out of Fort and was killed by Indians, A Wagon train family came thru and adopted the youngest baby boy Andy, two brothers were picked up by town folk to raise, William was abused and a town man named Gordon Latham and wife Ellen who had no children took him and raised him. His brother Arch was picked up by another Family named Troope later he moved to the Ranch to live.

Gordon Latham, later took William to his sisters home Margaret Latham - Ellis so he could meet his nieces. and William, Arch McDonalds two brothers they married two of the sisters. One was my grandmother Mary E Ellis-McDonald, Archie Married Lois Miles-McDonald Mary's half sister.


This was Wild West times.. Thursday July 18th 1901
Tom Horn was Accused of Murdering a Young Boy mistaken for his father. The Kells Nickells family who lived abt 4 Miles from his ranch they raised sheep, and it was felt that the sheep would ruin the land, Mr. Horn was working for the Pinkertin Agency they wanted to stop it. One day Tom Horn shot and killed the Nickells Family son Willie was mistaken him for his father, They tried to say my Grandfather William McDonald is the one who did it. He testified at the Trial in Cheyenne Wyoming. Tom Horn was found guilty and Hung there.
