Gertie was born in Iron Mountain, Wyoming in 1904, she lived on a Cattle Ranch that her father William McDonald owned. She was the 5th child of 9 Children, Alvira 1892, Edith 1895, William 1897, Dewey 1898, Gertrude 1904, Margaret 1906, Gordon 1909, Walter 1912, Ned 1914.. William needed help from the family to run the farm so they would all get in the car and drive to Wyoming to help. The Ranch was sold in abt 1936 then he eventually moved to California.
