VALDOSTA - Susie F. Blalock, 87, a registered nurse, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, in Quitman, Ga.
The service will be at 11:30 a.m. EDT Tuesday at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel, with burial at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park.
Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT today at the funeral home.
Born April 29, 1917, in Geneva County, Ala., she was a veteran of World War II, having served as a U.S. Army nurse.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Valdosta, a charter member of Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, a longtime volunteer at Tallahassee Community Hospital and a former resident of the Killearn area.
She was known for a huge and loving heart for her community. Until moving from Tallahassee, Susie would purchase children's clothing to be donated to unwed mothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.R. Blalock.
